It is not perhaps shock that overcomes her in this moment, but it is surprise. For this moment, this very second, is something that is warmer than usual for her-- it does not have the same sense of cold her every other second does, does not film over with the same crystallized frost, and Belle is not so frightened of her anymore, and is not so frightened of who she is this way--
She cannot speak for the Beast, but she can speak for herself and she is proud of that.
Traits to remain from that Creature and in spite of herself the nuzzle into the belle mademoiselle’s hand is anything but human, skin eagerly brushing a palm with a knowing calm that says yes, it is okay, you may touch, and I very much want you to, and she is yearning for that, a desirous thing, yearning for learning the thing that is this comfort, this warmth of which she is so unaccustomed.
And yet this is easy to do, and easy to think, and easy to feel. And perhaps it is the Beast that allots her such a smooth transition to the concept, because it is carnality that makes the utmost sense to her. So she allows that second, that tentative moment, and she brushes noses inquisitively to lean into the kiss-- to stay there, to feel and to ponder the moment.
It is then that her mouth splits open in a smile, those sabertooth canines of hers curved elegantly inward, and it makes that smile terrible but it is a true smile.
And, in all honesty, she is blushing.
